One of the primary homeostatic systems discussed in the first unit was the Hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis ( HPT axis).
In this unit, we will continue our discussion of episodic, non-homeostatic hormones, and begin to examine the neuroendocrine roles of the hypothalamus in more depth. However, we transitioned to episodic hormones when discussing hormones involved in digestion. In the last unit, we focused primarily on homeostatic hormones responsible for maintaining a stable environment.
